Well here we are, about 4 months before our wedding at our friends, Dwayne and Krystal Justice's Wedding We were just getting ready for our big day. We waited what felt like an eternity to get married, even though it was just a little under a year. Man even though it felt like forever, it sure did fly by!
The night before we are to get married, we feverously look for Wayne's birth certificate as it is required to get married. We search for 12 hours. We still have no idea where that is, but thanks to some quick improv, My Mom and Big RUT (Josh Rutledge) we were able to get a copy that was good enough just in time.
On May 13, 2008 Wayne and Sara were officially married. Quite a story. We started our day at the Legal office to get a certificate of eligibility for marriage and then instructed to take the papers to the Mayor's office in Seoul and then to the US Embassy to get all the papers signed.
So, the legal was Smooth.............. Or so we thought!!!! You will see what i mean by that later.. Anyways....
Then the bus ride to Yongsan Garrison, Army Post and taxi ride to mayor's
office and then us embassy...not to forget nourishment...Lunch at Avenue 1.
We are married! O wait, They forfot to imprint our paperwork with the seal at legal, so we had about a 1/2 hour at least venture trying to get that cleared up, and they totally hooked us up at the mayors office. So after that we went to the Embasy and now we are married,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Finally, what an adventure...never a dull moment.
Then a relaxing evening as a married couple! Yeah! Ella asked us when we
returned home, "Momma, are you and Daddy married now?" Which we emphatically responded, "Yes, Ella, we are!" She responded, "I am so excited."
Next was preparation for the ceremony...Wednesday started early with updating Sara's ID card, she is now an Anema (Wayne is very proud). Then off to the salon for a trial hair updo. The base hair stylists are pretty decent, but there is a bit of a language barrier. Sometimes they just do what they want. However, I think we collaborated just fine. Then off to get my trial makeup done downtown at Hue a cosmetics store that was a referral from one of my coworkers who is Korean and did some translating for me. Then for my first fitting on the dress I designed. But the dress was not ready...actually it was not even started. So I would need to go back on Thursday.
Well After Not really that much Prep work on our side, "thanks Windy, Heather, And the Cobra family" NO THANKS to waynes co-workers, which only about 4 showed up for our wedding. Punks,,, I think we are ready for our BIG day!!!!!
